50 lap Truck race proves a learning experience

On 10-15-06 Jordan raced a 50 lap truck race at Hickory Motor Speedway during the Fall Brawl event.

This was Jordan's last truck race of the season at Hickory Motor Speedway and with the race lasting 50 laps Jordan said he was looking to gain experience and try different things out during the race.

All the trucks were given one 15 minute round of practice and when Jordan was on the track his truck was decent, he said it was fine going into the corner and right in the center It would push up the track. The guys on his team tried an adjustment on the track bar for qualifying to see how the truck would handle then. Jordan said "It was waaaay WORSE. The truck would not turn at all in the center of the corner and I ended up qualifying 7th, not exactly what I was expecting, but at least I was not last."

After going through the setup and changing everything around in the front end of the truck the team decided it was where it needed to be.

"During the first couple of laps during the race the truck was handling great, I had moved up to 5th place and was putting pressure on 4th place. But as the race went on the same problem that I had in qualifying shoed back up. The Truck got tighter and tighter , but with this being a 50 lap race I was able to try a few different lines that would work and I ended up settling down into the 6th spot and ran the highline for the rest of the race. After a restart with 2 to go the leader was black flagged which moved me up one position. At the end of the race I was putting pressure back on the 4th place truck but I ended up coming home in the 5th spot."

There are 2 major truck races at Florence Motor Speedway that are coming up in the future that Jordan may race, make sure to stay in touch and keep checking the JordanAndersonRacing website for updates
