They say new experiences are
always the best. That statement came true for Jordan
Anderson and his race team Friday night at the Carolina
Speedway in Gastonia, North Carolina. when they grabbed
their first top 5 of the season at the speedway.
"It's such a great feeling to
finally break into the top 5 here" said Anderson. "With such
stiff competition, and the ever changing track conditions
here, I really feel that only the best run towards the front
here. This top 5 finish is really going to give us the
momentum that we've been looking forward to get the summer
stretch of racing started off right."
With beautiful weather all night
the fans were treated to full rounds of practice, heat
races, and features.
In his heat race, Anderson
started towards the rear due to bad pill draw, but worked
his way into the 4th position, giving him an 8th place start
for the feature race.
Prior to the nights events
Anderson and the City of Forest Acres, South Carolina teamed
up to sponsor the Kids Zone candy toss for the fans at the
speedway. After his heat race, Anderson made his way to the
speedway towers and threw out of 50 pounds of candy to the
young race fans. Along with handing out the candy, Jordan
handed out signed autograph cards depicting his #19 race car
on them.
With the cheers of the crowd
giving him their support, Jordan Anderson pulled his car out
for the feature race just as the bright carolina moon began
to show its light through the clouds. When the green flag
fell Anderson and the others were off, driving hard towards
turn one. "I'd definitely have to say that's been one of the
best starts I've had all year. By the second lap I had moved
into the 6th spot and was pressuring for 5th." Later in the
race Anderson was able to capture the 5th place spot after a
late race restart.
All in all Anderson and his #19
car are getting faster each week, and are becoming a threat
for victory.
