Carolina Speedway
Friday night at Carolina
Speedway was filled with excitement. After starting last in
his heat race, Jordan Anderson brought home a 4th place
finish, giving him spot number eight for the feature race.
After having a fast car
throughout practice, and qualifying, Anderson and the entire
Forest Acres Motorsports crew were excited about the
opportunities that lay ahead later on in the night. After
making a few adjustments to the car, to prepare for the ever
changing track conditions the car was ready to go.
When the green flag flew over
the full field of crate late models, the roar of the engines
and crowd could be heard for miles. Jordan Anderson in his
green and white #19 began to work his way through the field.
On the first lap he had already made a dash to the fifth
spot and was moving towards the front.
Entering turn 3 on lap 2 two
drivers ahead of Anderson spun, blocking the track. Spinning
his #19 to a stop, just enough contact was made to push the
front of the hood up.
Not letting the incident keep
him down, Anderson restarted the race from the rear of the
field and began his march back towards the front. Within a
handful of laps he was back in the 5th spot. Up until the
last lap Anderson had held his ground, overcoming the
obstacles that were placed in front of him. On the last lap,
contact between another driver sent Anderson into a spin
cycle shortly after taking the white flag. Anderson was able
to get the car back going and hang on to a 9th place finish.
