Anderson Grabs Top-5 Finish in First Dirt Start
-- Young Driver Shows Raw Talent, and Gains
Experience --
Saturday
afternoon as Jordan Anderson walked through the gates at
Sumter Speedway and into the garage area of the track
labeled as 'The Toughest Dirt Track in The South', Anderson
knew he would have to work hard to gain an understanding of
the track in order to succeed later in the night.
As Anderson
turned his first laps during practice, he looked like a
season veteran logging laps and running fast. After the
first two rounds of practice, driver 19 and the crew sat
down to discuss qualifying and the setup on the City of
Forest Acres race car. After making an adjustment to the
front suspension, Anderson rolled his car towards the grid
to lineup for qualifying.
As the 19
car took to the track, night was just beginning to set on
the crowd of fans at the speedway and the moon, full of
light, was just starting to creep over the tree line.
Anderson shifted into high gear as he approached the flag
stand and went on to lay down a solid 5th place starting
spot for the feature event later in the evening.
When the
green flag fell over the field, Anderson and his white and
green Forest Acres sponsored machine were off. Throughout
the race the #19 could be seen challenging for positions and
running solid. With this being Anderson's first ever race on
dirt the goal was to log laps, run good, and challenge for
positions, and that's exactly what he was doing.
At the end
of the night, Anderson was able to bring home car home in
the 4th place spot, a good showing for his first start on
dirt, and first time at the Sumter Speedway.
Look for
Jordan Anderson and his #19 City of Forest Acres Car to hit
the dirt again on April 17 at the Carolina Speedway in
Gastonia, North Carolina.
