Jordan Anderson prepares for his
race at Lowe's Motor Speedway during Round 9 of the Summer
Shootout Series.
August 5th: Lowe's Motor
Speedway
'Even with sweltering August
temperatures in the 90s, Jordan Anderson found a way to turn
up the heat as FireFold Technologies presented the
penultimate round of the Quaker Steak & Lube Summer Shootout
Tuesday night at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Before the Pull-A-Part Legends
Car Pro division feature, Anderson trailed Texan Chris
Buescher by 72 points. But thanks to a daring last-lap pass,
the Forest Acres, S.C., racer and 2007 division champion
will enter next week's season finale unofficially trailing
by only seven points. Polesitter John Ellenburg dominated
the race for 17 laps before Daniel Hemric squeezed past on
the inside of Turn 4 to take the point.
Hemric held the lead until he
tangled with second-place Nick Carey exiting Turn 2 on the
last lap. Anderson took advantage and bolted past both cars
on the backstretch, then rounded the final two turns to
capture his third victory of the season. Hemric held on for
second place in the 20-lap feature while Tyler Green moved
up to third. Buescher could muster only a 16th-place finish,
narrowly maintaining his points lead.'
After the race an ecstatic
Anderson had this to say about his performance "What an
incredible finish that was! To say that was all me out there
driving wouldn't be true, the Lord provided me with a safe
race and gave me the ability and talent to drive my car to
the front. Those last couple of laps got a little crazy, but
I was just trying to stay on my toes and put this #19 NPR,
City of Forest Acres Legends Car in Victory Lane. This was a
great win for everyone including Dick Dyer Toyota and all
our other great partners. To get my third win in the 2008
Summer Shootout Series is incredible and is truly and gift
from God."
