July 7th: Lowe's Motor
Speedway
Tuesday night during Round 5 of
the Lowe's Motor Speedway Summer Shootout series, the Pro
division drivers had a some unexpected driving conditions
laying in front them.
Early in the day the rain came
down as a drizzle, then poured, causing the drivers to race
both the heat races and feature races on a rain soaked
track.
In his heat race, Jordan started
from the 4th position, but it only took 1 lap for him to
overtake his other competitors and grab the lead. Although
it may have seemed as if Jordan was racing on a dirt track,
sliding through the rain like a seasoned veteran, he brought
home the win and nabbed a 3rd place starting position for
the feature race later that night.
When the green flag waved over
the full field of drivers, the rain continued to fall as
drivers fended for position on the Lowe's Motor Speedway
front stretch. Early on in the race Jordan utilized the top
groove of the race track to take over second place and hold
it until halfway, until eventually fading to a fifth place
finish after the rain tires began to gain heat.
