Jordan Anderson discussing
strategy with another driver at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
June 24th: Lowe's Motor
Speedway
Tuesday night at Lowe's Motor
Speedway Jordan Anderson overcame numerous obstacles placed
in front of him and brought home a solid finish.
Round Three of the Summer
Shootout Series for Jordan started out great, with a 8th
place qualifying effort in the heat race. After making an
adjustment to the car in the race, the #19 City Of Forest
Acres race team had high expectations for the feature race.
When the green flag flew over
the 28 car field, Jordan's night began to turn sour. Heading
into turn 1, another competitor and Jordan made contact,
sending the #19 Legends Car into a spin. On the restart
Jordan was forced to start from the rear of the field, but
to him it was nothing. "When your involved in any time of
incident like that early on in the race, you've just got to
keep your mind clear and focus on the race; and the cars you
have to pass that are in front of you" said Anderson.
After being sent to the rear, it
was evident that Jordan had a fast car. Making moves on the
outside, inside, and even in the middle, he began to make
his march through the field. At the halfway mark during the
event Jordan was back up to the 10th place and was passing
another car for 9th, when both car's touched sending Jordan
back into another spin cycle.
With only a handful of laps
remaining at that point, Anderson knew he would have to
drive hard. Making moves once again that resembled those
earlier on in the race Jordan began making his way back up
through the field. When the checkered flag flew the #19 car
was in the 12th spot.
"After what I went through
tonight, to come away with a top 15 finish is unbelievable.
At one point in the race I felt like a ping pong ball out
there, It was a hectic race, but at the same time I got to
do a lot of racing. Overall the night was good, we had a
good showing passing half the field twice, and we're still
in the top 3 in points, so I would certainly this was a good
night. Not only that but I really had numerous opportunities
to overcome adversity and build my perseverance. I believe
that the Lord provided all of the events that took place
tonight for a reason, a reason I may never know, but one
that he does. All I can do at this point is keep my head up
and focus on next week's race."
