Jordan Anderson on track at
Anderson Speedway Saturday night.
July 18th: Anderson Motor
Speedway
After starting last in his
qualifying race Friday night, Jordan Anderson knew he would
have to work hard if he was to be in Victory Lane later that
night. But when the starting flag flew over the Legends car
heat race the #19 City of Forest Acres Legends car was doing
something familiar; moving towards the front. By then end of
the race Jordan Anderson was in the lead and was first to
the checkered flag, and since Anderson was in the second
qualifying race, he would starting outside of the front
role.
Steven Ross grabbed the lead as
soon as the green flag dropped on the race and held the lead
until lap eight. At the end of lap eight Anderson bypassed
Ross and took over the lead position. On lap nine Ross tried
to regain the top spot but dropped into line behind the
leader. Ross pressed Anderson repeatedly and on the final
lap of the race he made his last attempt to overtake him and
made contact with Anderson. The contact caused Ross to have
to get off the gas and Wesley Thompson passed him to move
into the second position. Steven Ross finished third.
Anderson was able to hang on and was first across the line
and landed himself a spot in Victory Lane.
"This is just incredible, I've
just got to give all the praise to God for this one. All you
fans out there that saw me out there racing, every move and
pass I made was talent given to me by the Lord." Anderson
went on to thank all those that helped him get to Victory
Lane on a beautiful Friday night "The guys on my team told
me I couldn't come back to the trailer after the race if I
didn't win tonight, so I was out there driving as hard as I
could for them. Nick, Bert, Gerald, and everyone from Team
NPR gave me a great car to work with so I wouldn't be here
without them. Along with them all my sponsors have support
me through the good and the bad, so this one is great for
them. The City of Forest Acres, Dick Dyer Toyota, Leon Jones
Insurance, and everyone else on the car really deserved this
win and I'm happy to get it for them"
